The global economy is still reeling from the effects of the pandemic. The European Union reported robust GDP growth in the second quarter and South Korea raised its policy interest rate, the first major Asian central bank to begin withdrawing pandemic-related monetary accommodation. The United States meanwhile is worried about inflation and jobs.
