There’s no place like home, unless you just can’t find a home to buy.
A perfect storm of low interest rates and an extremely limited supply of homes for sale is making buying a home in Pueblo a challenge — to say the least.
“What’s surprising is when listings are coming on the market, they are being sold immediately, usually within a week. So they are not sticking around long and all our inventory is listed under ‘pending,’” said David Anderson, a Pueblo West-based RE/MAX realtor who is on the board of directors for the Pueblo Association of Realtors.
Pending sales jumped up 56.2% above last April and are up 5.3% year to date. For example, the most recent residential real estate figures show that 276 homes were sold in Pueblo during the month of April, up from 225 in April of last year during the early stages of the COVID pandemic.
