On Monday morning, Scamwatch warned that they had reports of SMS messages claiming vaccine recipients could get a payment after being jabbed.

The scammers pretended there was such thing as a Covid-19 vaccination benefit payment and encouraged people to click on a malware link.

The fake message reads: “Department of Health: Our records show you are eligible for the Covid-19 vaccination benefit payment. Find out more: …”

In response, Scamwatch shot back: “WARNING: The government is not offering a benefit payment for those who receive their Covid-19 vaccine.
